Hydro MPC-E 5 CRE 45-2-2
Hydraulic pressure boosting system delivered as a pre-assembled compact unit in compliance with DIN standard 1988/T5.
All pumps are variable speed controlled.
From 0.37 to 11 kW, the pressure boosting assembly is furnished with CR, CRE, CRI, CRIE pumps with electronically commutated (EC) permanent-magnet motors with extremely high efficiency. The total efficiency of the motor including the variable frequency drive (VFD) applies to IE5 level in IEC60034-31.
From 15 to 22 kW, the pressure boosting assembly is furnished with CR, CRE, CRI, CRIE pumps with motors with integrated variable frequency rotational speed regulation. The total efficiency of the motor including the variable frequency drive (VFD) is better than the IE3 level in IEC60034-31, even though this standard only applies to the motor.
- Hydro MPC-E maintains a constant system pressure through continuous modulation of rotational speed of the pumps.
- The system performance is adapted to the hydraulic demand through cutting in/out the required number of pumps and through parallel control of the pumps in operation.
- Duty pump rotation is automatic and depends on system load, elapsed operating time and system fault condition.

The system comprises the following components: these parts:

Pump wetted components in contact with the fluid medium being conveyed are manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel EN DIN 1.4301 Pump bases and heads are of either ductile cast iron/grade 304 stainless steel (CRI) or ductile cast iron EN-GJS-500-7 (CR), depending on pump type; other vital parts are manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel EN DIN 1.4301 The pumps are furnished with a maintenance-accessible cartridge mechanical shaft seal, HQQE (SiC/SiC/EPDM)
- Two grade 304 stainless steel manifolds to EN DIN 1.4571
- Grade 304 stainless steel structural base frame to EN DIN 1.4301 up to CR 90; above CR 90 the pumps are placed on a hot-dip galvanised I-Beam frame
- One inline non-return check valve (POM) and two isolating valves for each pump
- Non-return valves are certified in compliance with DVGW, isolating valves in compliance with DIN and DVGW
- Adapter with isolation valve for connection of pressure hydraulic expansion vessel
- Pressure instrumentation gauge and pressure transducer (analog output 4-20 mA)
- Control MPC in a powder-coated steel enclosure, IP54, including isolator switch, all required overcurrent protection devices, motor overload protection, control switching gear and microprocessor-controlled CU 352.

Dry-run protection device and pressure hydraulic expansion vessel are available as an option in compliance with the list of accessories.
Pump operation is controlled by Control MPC with the following functions:
- Intelligent multi-pump sequencing controller, CU 352.
- Fixed-pressure setpoint pressure control through continuously variable modulation of rotational speed of each individual pump.
- PID controller with adjustable PI parameters (Kp + Ti).
- Constant system pressure maintained at the duty pressure setpoint, independent of suction-side inlet pressure.
- Controlled pressure ramp-up (To prevent hydraulic shock (water hammer) during startup).
- Intermittent duty cycling at low-hydraulic demand flow conditions.
- Automatic duty/standby cascade sequencing of pumps for optimal hydraulic efficiency.
- Selection of min. elapsed operating time between start and stop, automatic duty pump rotation and pump priority.
- Automatic anti-seize pump exercise function to prevent standby pumps from seizing due to inactivity.
- Capability for duty/standby pump allocation.
- Capability for redundant pressure transducer (redundant primary pressure sensor).
- Secondary pressure sensor (Possible to switch to another pressure sensor/pressure setpoint).
- Multi-pressure sensor (up to 6 sensors to influence the pressure setpoint).
- Manual override mode.
- Capability for external pressure setpoint influence.

The system supports the ability to add CIM bus communication interface modules for communicating with SCADA/Building Management System (BMS).
Pumps, pipework assembly, electrical cabling and wiring complete as well as Control MPC are mounted on the structural base frame. The pressure boosting assembly has been factory preset, commissioned, and pressure tested.
There are options to retrofit or extend the pressure boosting system.
